REFF5 is a new type of logistic center that challenges prevailing paradigms of its building type.

Unlike most logistic buildings surrounded by fences and cut off from the street, REEF5 was design to engage the street and create a more harmonized and open street level facade. The “front” yard creates small gathering spaces for workers and visitors, enlivening the street scape in an otherwise empty industrial area.

Facing north towards the open view, the street facing façade was designed to create a dynamic and interesting appearance. With its translucent insulated polycarbonate panels, it brings in natural light during the day, and acts as a large-scale street lantern at night.

The buildings main entrance is marked by a 9-meter span cantilever where the façade “skin” and roof create an open foyer facing the intersection
